Cros Arc MIG

Cros Arc MIG welders are solid, no-nonsense machines suited to day‑in, day‑out use in professional bodyshops and fabrication bays. They cover everything from thin automotive panels through to heavier chassis and bracket work. When choosing a set, look at the duty cycle at your typical welding current, wire size range, and whether you need synergic control or pulse for mixed material work. If you’re unsure, BWS engineers can match the welder to your jobs, mains supply and existing torches.

Engineer Advice

Paul Jones

Paul Jones says

Cros Arc MIG welders are straightforward, robust machines suited to day‑to‑day work in bodyshops and general fabrication. In practice they’re used for continuous welding on car panels, chassis sections, brackets and light structural work, where you need repeatable results rather than constant tweaking.

In a workshop, most value comes from getting the basics right: matching wire size and gas to the material, setting a sensible wire feed and voltage, and keeping liners, tips and rollers in good condition. These sets are typically happy running solid wire on mild steel with mixed gas, and many will handle stainless or aluminium with the correct wire, drive rolls and torch setup.

A common issue we see is operators running too low on voltage to “be safe” on thin panels, which actually causes cold lap and more distortion because they stay on the weld too long. Once set up correctly and kept clean, Cros Arc MIG units tend to be reliable, predictable tools that let you work efficiently without fuss, shift after shift.
