Technical Features

  • Latest IGBT inverter power source gives a stable arc with low input power draw, ideal for professional bodyshop and workshop use on single phase 230V supplies
  • Multiprocess machine with MIG/MAG, pulse MIG, MMA (stick) and DC lift TIG modes, so one unit covers most welding tasks in a repair shop
  • Synergic MIG programmes for steel, aluminium, stainless and flux cored wires, allowing quick setup with automatic parameter matching from a few basic inputs
  • Option to switch between synergic and full manual control, letting experienced welders finetune volts, amps and wire speed for specific joints and positions
  • Single and double pulse MIG modes improve control on thin material and aluminium, helping reduce heat input, distortion and rework on body panels
  • High resolution colour user interface makes it easy to see and adjust parameters, weld modes and jobs, even in a busy or poorly lit workshop
  • Fourroll wire feed system provides consistent wire drive on soft wires such as aluminium and on longer torch leads, reducing burnbacks and feeding issues
  • Accepts 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 mm wires, covering typical bodyshop steel, stainless, flux cored and aluminium applications without needing a separate machine
  • Variable inductance control allows the arc to be softened or hardened to suit thin panels, positional work or heavier fabrication
  • 2T/4T trigger modes support both short trigger pulls and latched runs, useful for longer beads, inside vehicles, or when access is awkward
  • Burnback adjustment helps prevent wire sticking to the tip at the end of the weld, extending contact tip life and improving restart quality
  • Wire inching function allows you to feed wire through a new torch or liner without wasting gas or striking an arc
  • Gas purge function lets you set and test gas flow at the regulator and torch without running wire, useful during setup and troubleshooting
  • Job save function enables storage and recall of preferred settings, so common repairs, materials and thicknesses can be set up quickly and consistently by different operators
  • Portable, compact 230V unit at around 13 kg is easy to move around a workshop, under a bench or onto a mobile trolley for work around the vehicle
  • Generatorfriendly design makes it suitable for mobile repair work or sites where mains power is not available, provided the generator is sized correctly
  • Fancooled, IP23rated construction for reliable operation in typical workshop environments with dust and overspray
  • Compatible TIG kit option allows basic DC lift TIG for small fabrication, brackets and repair work without needing a separate TIG set
  • MMA capability means it can run standard welding electrodes for site work, thicker sections and repairs where MIG or gas coverage are impractical
  • Supplied ready to weld with MIG torch, earth return lead and clamp, and gas hose, so it can be put into service quickly with the appropriate regulator and gas supply

FAQs

What welding processes does the CROS ARC Pulse MIG Multi Process 200C cover for workshop use?
It is a true multi-process inverter, giving you MIG/MAG (standard and synergic), pulse MIG (single and double pulse), MMA (stick) and DC lift TIG from one 230V machine. That makes it suitable for general fabrication, bodyshop panel work, light structural repairs and on-site jobs where you want one compact unit to handle most tasks.
Is the 200C suitable for aluminium and thin body panels?
Yes. It can run 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0mm wire, including steel, stainless, aluminium and flux-cored. Pulse and double-pulse MIG are particularly useful on thin steel and aluminium panels as they reduce heat input and spatter, so you spend less time dressing welds. For best results on aluminium use the correct soft liners/rollers and pure argon shielding gas.
What power supply does it need in a UK workshop?
The unit is single-phase 110/230V with auto-sensing, so in a UK bodyshop or garage you will typically run it on 230V. Input current on 230V is 16A, so a dedicated 16A CEE socket is recommended to access the full 200A output and duty cycle. It is also generator friendly, which helps for mobile repairs, provided the generator is correctly sized and stable.
What is included as standard and what extra accessories might I need?
Supplied as standard are the 200C power source, a 3m M2 series MIG torch, earth lead with clamp and a gas hose. To use MMA you will need an electrode holder lead, and for TIG you will need the optional TIG Kit 7 (torch and accessories). Many workshops also pair it with the dedicated inverter trolley (CAP0216) to keep the machine, gas cylinder and accessories together and mobile. BWS can supply consumables, torches, leads and spares to keep the set working reliably in daily professional use.

Expert Advice

Paul Jones

Paul Jones says

The CROS ARC Pulse MIG Multi Process 200C 230V is the sort of machine I would expect to see in a bodyshop or fabrication bay where one unit has to cover a range of repair work. In practice, it is used for steel and, where set up correctly, aluminium jobs, along with general workshop welding where good arc control matters more than headline features.

The main things I look at are wire drive stability, pulse control, and whether the torch and consumables suit the material being welded. On thinner automotive panels, the difference between a tidy repair and a problem often comes down to how well the machine is set and how consistent the feed remains. I have seen plenty of poor results blamed on the welder when the real issue was gas, liner condition, or the wrong wire choice.

Used properly, this type of machine gives reliable control and sensible flexibility for day-to-day workshop work.
