IMI (ATA) ACCREDITATIONS
We are an approved IMI (ATA) test centre providing AOM-009: Resistance Spot Welding (BS1140) MAG Welding (BS4872) courses onsite.
Our engineers are qualified to CSWIP 3-1 Standard and are able to test in full for BS4872 and BS1142 1mm, 2mm and 3mm materials.
We offer some of the best value rates for onsite testing enabling you to reduce your costs. We charge per site NOT per person for testing and up to 6 personnel can be tested at any one time.
Appropriate certification for BS Standards and IMI Approval will be issued upon successful completion.
Our engineers will offer guidance and instruction if required to ensure your technicians achieve their aims and improve skills.
We are an Approved IMI Test Center, able to carry out AOM009 and AOM 133 Bond and Riveting tests onsite
BS EN 4872-1;1982 (PART 1 STEEL )TESTING
This test involves proving the welder/technicians competence at producing an acceptable weld in a fillet and butt weld. It was designed so that the technician can self inspect and produce a required weld for a given application.
- Set up the MAG welder- checking wire speed, correct weld current and gas flow.
- Prepare the weld tags (sheet metal)
- Carry out test welds in the approved positions.
- Visually check the welds produced and asses if they are to the required standard prior to submitting.
- Submit the test tag to the inspector for approval.

BS1140 SPOT WELDING (RESISTANCE WELDING)
The BS 1140 Weld test involves the operator proving competence in resistance welding. Approved spot weld tests are to be produced in sizes 5mm and 8mm nugget diameters.
We are spot welding experts and have been training and installing equipment for 30 years. Our training includes spot welding theory and practical assessments onsite using your own equipment.
We can train on all different manufacturers spot welding equipment.
The BS 1140 Weld Test involves the technician producing a 5mm and 8mm weld nugget in manual mode, on a 1mm weld tag.
Samples are destroyed and tested on site via peel testing.

A set area is required for the test with welding curtains to protect the rest of the workshop users. A serviced MAG Welder, MIG Braze and Inverter Spot Welder.
Each Engineer requires there own hand tools including air saw, belt sander, hammer, chisels etc.
Drill bits, bonding material rivet tool and rivets are supplied. Spare Welding gases are also available.
