Engineer Advice

This is a mobile pipe stand system designed to support and position tube or section at a workable height around the workshop. In daily use it tends to sit beside a welding bay or fabrication bench, taking the weight of long stock while you tack, square, and run beads.

With the basic Vee head it is most at home under round tube or small box section. Height adjustment needs a bit of discipline: always set the stand slightly lower than your main support so the work naturally sits back to a fixed datum, rather than see‑sawing between points. On uneven floors, take time to stabilise the base properly before loading; a rocking stand is asking for misalignment or, worse, a dropped component.

A common issue I see is overloading a single stand instead of using two or three in line. Spreading the load keeps joints in line and saves fighting distortion. Used sensibly, this type of stand is a simple, reliable way to make welding and cutting longer material much more controlled and efficient.
