FAQs
1. What is the difference between a starter charger and a regular charger?
A starter charger is a device that can both start an engine and charge a battery. It delivers a large current to the starter motor to crank the engine, and then switches to a charging mode to maintain the battery's charge. A regular charger, on the other hand, is designed solely for charging batteries without the ability to start an engine.
2. Can the DSC250B be used as a charger only?
Yes, the DSC250B can be used as a charger only. It automatically switches to charging mode once the engine is started and the battery voltage is above a certain threshold.
3. Is the DSC250B suitable for deep cycle batteries?
Yes, the DSC250B can be used to charge deep cycle batteries. It has a built-in desulfator that helps maintain the battery's health and prolong its life.
4. How long does it take to charge a dead battery with the DSC250B?
The charging time depends on the state of the battery. A fully discharged battery may take up to 8 hours to charge to 100%. However, the DSC250B can charge a battery up to 50% in just 30 minutes.
