This is a SIP PX3/200-SRB 200-litre, oil-lubricated belt-drive compressor rated at 3hp (2.2kW), intended for trade workshop use. I’m Mark, merchant colleague, and I recommend these machines where a reservoir and intermittent high flow are needed to run air tools, inflation and paint prep. One key consideration is the electrical and ventilation setup: the unit requires a 230V (16A) supply, short unsuitable extension leads can cause voltage drop and motor trips, and the compressor needs a stable, horizontal base with at least 50cm clearance for cooling. Another technical point is routine maintenance — follow the oil change and filter intervals, check belt tension and drain condensate from the 200 litre receiver to prevent internal corrosion. A common issue I see is frequent cycling from leaks or undersized hoses, which ups wear and trips the thermal cutout. Correct siting, supply and simple maintenance deliver reliable, efficient service in a busy bodyshop.
