Mark Allen says
This type of direct-fired space heater is used to warm large, well-ventilated workshop areas, bodyshops and fabrication spaces where rapid heat-up is needed. The AB1758 burns clean kerosene or diesel and produces around 50kW of heat, with airflow suitable for substantial working areas.
In a bodyshop, I would use it for general space heating during cold-weather repairs, particularly in larger bays where fixed heating is impractical. It needs a sound 230V supply, clean fuel and sufficient clearance around the air inlet and hot-air outlet. Because combustion gases enter the heated space, ventilation is essential, and it is not suitable for enclosed occupied areas without adequate air exchange.
A common issue with these heaters is poor starting or smoky running caused by contaminated fuel, restricted filters or incorrect pump pressure. Keeping the fuel clean and servicing the burner system prevents most avoidable faults. Used with the correct ventilation and maintenance routine, it is a dependable way to restore workable temperatures quickly.
