The GYSPOT PTI PREMIUM PRO is a three-phase resistance spot welder intended for professional bodyshop repairs, particularly where high-strength, UHSS and boron steel are involved. I use this type of equipment for structural panel assemblies where consistent electrode force and controlled current are essential to reproduce the vehicle maker’s weld pattern.

The 400V, 6m version uses a liquid-cooled transformer built into the G clamp, producing up to 14,500A with a clamping force of up to 550daN at 8 bar. Correct air pressure, clean panel surfaces and suitable electrode caps are critical; the machine cannot compensate for poor preparation or inadequate access.

A common issue in workshops is assuming the automatic programme removes the need for setup. Sheet thickness, steel grade, coatings and adhesive all affect the weld, so the correct material mode and contact condition still need checking. In practice, reliable results come from sound preparation, regular cap maintenance and a properly sized 400V supply. When installed and used correctly, it provides repeatable spot welds with efficient cooling and useful traceability for professional repairs.
