How Non-Rental Welding Gas Works

Our non-rental gas system is designed to be straightforward and flexible:

Step 1 — Choose Your Gas

Select the welding or hobby gas suitable for your application. Common options include Argon CO2 mixes for MIG welding, pure Argon for TIG welding and balloon gases for parties and events.

Step 2 — Choose Your Bottle Size

We supply multiple cylinder sizes depending on your usage requirements. Smaller bottles are popular with hobby welders and occasional users, while larger cylinders are better suited to busy workshops and fabrication environments.

Step 3 — Exchange or Return the Bottle

When your bottle is empty, simply return it to BWS Ltd in Manchester. You can exchange it for a refill or return the bottle and reclaim your refundable deposit.

Non Rental Gas vs Traditional Rental Gas Suppliers

Traditional welding gas suppliers typically charge ongoing monthly rental fees for every cylinder supplied, regardless of whether the gas is being used. While this can work well for high-usage industrial customers, it is often poor value for occasional welders or smaller workshops.

Traditional Rental Gas

  • Monthly bottle rental charges
  • Ongoing contracts and account management
  • Charges continue even when bottles are unused
  • Can become expensive for low gas usage

BWS Non Rental Gas

  • One-off refundable bottle deposit
  • No monthly rental fees
  • No long-term contracts
  • Pay only for the gas you use
  • Ideal for hobby welders and smaller workshops

If you regularly empty large cylinders every few months, a rental agreement may work out cheaper long-term. However, for occasional welding, vehicle restoration, fabrication repairs or hobby use, rent-free welding gas is usually the more cost-effective solution.
