Engineer Advice
Mark Allen says
SIP screw air compressors are rotary screw machines intended for continuous compressed-air supply in workshop and bodyshop environments. I use them to provide stable pressure for pneumatic tools, sanding and finishing equipment, plant air and small paint booths where a steady flow is required rather than intermittent bursts. The key technical considerations are air treatment and installation: proper filtration and drying to protect spray guns and control valves, and sufficient ventilation and electrical supply to avoid overheating and nuisance trips. Control strategy and receiver sizing also affect energy use and pressure stability. A common issue I see is poor pipework layout and undersized filters that cause pressure drop and oil or moisture carryover into tools and paint lines. Regular maintenance of separator elements, condensate management and checking pipe runs fixes most problems. When installed and serviced correctly, screw compressors offer reliable, efficient service for the continuous demands of a busy workshop.
