Engineer Advice
Mark Allen says
SIP piston air compressors are workshop-grade compressors used to supply compressed air for bodyshop and workshop tasks. I use them to feed spray guns, impact wrenches, sanders and general blow-off work, and they suit intermittent duty where pressure and flow are needed on demand. Key technical considerations are airflow and pressure stability — ensure pipework and fittings match the compressor’s output and that a pressure regulator and good filtration are fitted for paintwork. Ventilation and cooling are important where units run frequently; oil-lubricated models need routine oil and filter checks, while oil-free versions lower servicing but still require condensate management. A common issue I see is undersized delivery lines and poor condensate drainage, which cause pressure drop and tool performance problems. Installed on a level base with vibration isolation and a routine service schedule, these compressors give dependable, efficient service for typical bodyshop and workshop use.
