GYS Arc Welders — a full range of professional MMA / stick welders designed for bodyshops, fabrication workshops and industrial users. GYS, a French family-owned manufacturer founded in 1964, has built a worldwide reputation for quality and innovation in welding technology. Each GYS inverter is engineered for precision, durability and reliability, ensuring consistent results across a wide range of materials and conditions. Explore our range of inverter-based MMA welders that combine traditional strength with cutting-edge electronic control for smoother, cleaner welds.
An Arc Welder — also known as an MMA (Manual Metal Arc) or Stick Welder — uses an electric arc to fuse metal between a coated electrode and the workpiece. The flux coating on the electrode melts to create a protective gas shield, preventing oxidation and ensuring a strong, clean weld. MMA welding is versatile, simple to set up, and suitable for outdoor or on-site work where gas-shielded processes like MIG or TIG are not practical. It’s ideal for welding steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, and can be used on painted, rusty or uneven surfaces.
We stock a wide range of GYS MMA welders suitable for both professionals and hobbyists, including:
The Hot Start feature increases current for a split second when striking the arc. This helps ignite the electrode smoothly, especially on oxidised or painted surfaces.
Anti-Stick automatically cuts the welding current if the electrode sticks to the workpiece, allowing easy removal without damaging the electrode or plate.
Yes, MMA welding is particularly suited for outdoor use. The electrode’s flux coating provides its own gas shield, protecting the weld pool from wind and contaminants.
Most GYS MMA welders can handle input voltage fluctuations of ±15%, making them compatible with generators. Models with PFC (Power Factor Correction) ensure smooth performance even on long extension leads.
Arc Force automatically regulates welding current to prevent the arc from extinguishing when working with short arcs or difficult electrode positions, improving weld consistency.
