This is a 3 hp, 150 litre belt‑drive workshop compressor that suits small to medium bodyshops and general repair work where you’re running air tools, tyre equipment and occasional spray work off a single‑phase 230 V supply.
In real use, it’s typically sited in a corner on level ground, hard‑piped or via quality hose to a ring main, feeding blow guns, DA sanders, sealant guns and light spray guns. The 150 l receiver gives a bit of buffer so the motor isn’t starting every few seconds when someone uses a DA.
Key points I look at are air demand versus the roughly 9 CFM free air delivery, and the supply – these really want a good 16 A+ feed even if they’re sometimes sold as 13 A plug units. Poor cable sizing and long extension leads are a common cause of tripping and motor stress.
Set up correctly, drained regularly and kept clean, these compressors are a reliable workhorse for day‑to‑day bodyshop use, provided you don’t ask them to do the job of a big three‑phase machine.
