The Stealth Digi-Fume is a portable fume extractor designed for localised extraction at bodyshop benches and small welding bays. I’m Paul Jones, BWS Technical Director, and I see these used where you need a compact, moveable unit to capture fumes at source. In practice you position the 50 mm inlet close to the weld or solder joint, use the supplied 2 m flexible hose and plug the unit into a standard 230 V supply. Key technical points are the 0.88 kW motor and nominal 100 m³/h airflow together with a cartridge filter and active carbon panel (filtering surface and carbon quantity specified by the manufacturer); longer or undersized ducting will noticeably reduce performance. A common issue I encounter is delayed filter changes — reduced airflow or persistent odour means the cartridge or carbon needs replacing, and hose kinks or poor hood positioning cut capture efficiency. With correct siting and routine filter checks the unit provides reliable, practical local extraction and comes with a two year manufacturer warranty.
