I’m Paul Jones, BWS Technical Director. The Scangrip Nova-Ex is an explosion‑proof COB LED work light supplied with a 10 m mains cable for use where permanent electricity is available. In a workshop or bodyshop context I use it for broad-area illumination in hazardous zones – inspection, preparation and colour-critical tasks – its high CRI and wide 110° beam give even, daylight‑like light and reduce false colour perception. Key technical points are its Zone 1/21 classification and mains operation (AC 100–240V, 50/60 Hz) with a 3x1 mm² H05RN‑F cable; the luminaire is die‑cast aluminium, IP65 and rated for 1 m impact, with two output levels (50%/100%). From experience the common issue is cable routing and secure positioning: the lamp is heavy and bright, so use the EX tripod or magnetic bracket and keep the cable in clips to avoid trip hazards and reflections on painted panels. Properly mounted and used in the correct zone, it is a robust, dependable mains light for demanding environments.
