The GYS Panoramic 3XL True Colour Helmet is designed to be a versatile, all-process welding helmet suitable for MIG/MAG, TIG, MMA (stick) welding, and plasma cutting. Its adjustable shade range of DIN 9–13 means it can be configured appropriately for the lower amperages typical of TIG work right through to the high-output demands of MMA welding. The four arc sensors provide reliable detection across all of these processes, including the lower-intensity arcs produced during TIG welding, where less capable helmets can sometimes fail to trigger correctly. The integrated grinding mode also makes it practical for fabrication workflows where welding and grinding tasks alternate frequently.
Standard auto-darkening welding helmets often use lens filters that introduce a noticeable colour cast — typically green or yellow — when darkened. While this does not affect eye safety, it can make it more difficult to accurately read the weld pool, assess puddle fluidity, and judge the position of the arc relative to the joint. GYS's True Colour (4C) technology uses a multi-layer optical filter designed to reproduce colours as close to natural as possible even in the darkened state. For the welder, this translates to improved weld pool visibility, better contrast between the base metal and filler, and reduced eye strain over long work sessions. Many professional welders find that True Colour lenses allow them to spot defects or irregularities in the weld pool more readily, contributing to higher quality results and fewer rework instances.
Yes — the GYS Panoramic 3XL is well suited to TIG welding, including at lower amperages. The helmet is equipped with four arc sensors positioned to give broad coverage of the weld area, and the sensitivity control can be adjusted to the high setting to ensure reliable triggering even when the arc is less intense. The shade range starts at DIN 9 in the dark state, which is appropriate for lower-current TIG applications, and the ultra-fast switching speed of 1/25,000 sec ensures eye protection is engaged virtually instantaneously upon arc strike. If you are working in an environment with other welders nearby, you can also fine-tune sensitivity to prevent false triggering from adjacent arcs while still maintaining reliable detection of your own welding arc.
The GYS Panoramic 3XL features an exceptionally large viewing area of 110 x 90 mm, which places it among the largest auto-darkening lenses available in professional welding helmets. By comparison, a typical entry-level or mid-range auto-darkening helmet will often offer a viewing area in the region of 90 x 35 mm to 98 x 55 mm. The 3XL's panoramic format therefore delivers considerably more visible workspace — both in terms of width and height — giving the welder a much broader, more natural field of view. This is particularly advantageous when welding on large fabrications, when joint access requires an oblique torch angle, or simply when improved situational awareness of the surrounding work area is desirable. The larger lens also reduces the need to reposition your head to track the weld, which can improve both comfort and weld consistency over the course of a long shift.
