Jasic Plasma Cutters

Jasic plasma cutters are solid, no-nonsense machines for bodyshops and fabrication work where you’re cutting mild steel, stainless or aluminium plate and sections. In practice, choose by plate thickness and duty cycle – not just quoted “maximum cut”. For regular bodyshop work up to 10–12 mm, a smaller inverter is fine; for chassis sections or heavier fabrication, step up to a higher amperage unit with a decent air supply. Set-up, torch consumables and clean, dry air make more difference than most people think.

Engineer Advice

Paul Jones

Paul Jones says

Plasma cutters in this range are aimed at sheet and light fabrication work in real bodyshops and workshops, where you’re cutting mixed materials all day rather than doing test pieces on a bench. They’re typically used for trimming panels, brackets, chassis sections and fabrication jobs where a grinder is too slow or too messy.

In practice, air quality and torch lead condition matter more than most people realise. Dirty, wet air will quickly ruin consumables and give a ragged edge, so a proper filter/regulator close to the machine is worth fitting. Correctly setting amperage to match thickness is also key – too low and you’ll be grinding dross, too high and you’ll widen the kerf and overheat the work.

A common issue I see is operators trying to stretch consumables too far; once the nozzle wears, cut quality and reliability drop off sharply. Used with clean air, sensible duty cycles and regular torch maintenance, these plasma sets give consistent cuts and keep fabrication and repair work moving efficiently.
