Technical Features

  • Compact inverter MIG/MAG set suited to bodyshop repair and light fabrication on singlephase supply
  • Wide input range with PFC, so it copes better with variable site power and generator use
  • Stable lowamp arc for thin panel work where control on shut lines and repair sections matters
  • Designed for professional bodyshop use on steel work, with practical MIG settings rather than gimmicks
  • Suitable for 0.6 to 0.8 mm wire, which is the normal range for light repair and general workshop welding
  • Portable package, useful for mobile repair work and moving between bays
  • Digital control makes setup quicker and helps keep repeat settings consistent
  • 2T and 4T trigger modes for normal welding and longer runs
  • Variable inductance control for tuning the arc on thinner material and reducing harshness
  • Gas check and wire inching functions for faster setup at the machine
  • Builtin protection against overload and overheating for daytoday workshop reliability
  • Fanondemand and powersaving functions help keep noise and idle draw down
  • IP23S protection makes it better suited to workshop environments than a basic hobby set
  • Can be used as both MIG and MMA, which is handy when the job changes and a stick process is needed
  • Suitable for bodyshop spot and shortrun welding where clean starts and consistent control matter
  • Easy to live with in a trade shop because it is compact, serviceable and aimed at practical repair work

FAQs

Is the Jasic Evo MIG 160 PFC suitable for workshop body repair work?
Yes. It is a compact single-phase MIG/MAG set aimed at professional bodyshop and light fabrication work, with a stable low-amp arc that is suited to thinner steel panels and repair work. It is also portable enough for mobile repairs when you need to move the machine around the site.
What power supply does it run on?
It runs from a 110 to 240V single-phase supply with PFC, so it can cope with a wide input range. That makes it a practical choice for workshops where the supply is not always the same, or where you may need to use it on site from different outlets.
What wire size is it best suited to?
It is set up for 0.6 to 0.8mm wire, which is the normal range for bodyshop work and light fabrication. That gives better control on thin material and makes it easier to keep heat input down on repair panels.
What comes with the machine?
The package includes a 3m MIG torch, 3m earth clamp, argon regulator and gas hose. It is also a standard Euro-style MIG setup, so routine service items such as liners, tips and contact parts are straightforward to source and replace.

Expert Advice

Jason

Jason says

This is a compact single‑phase MIG set suited to light fabrication, bodywork and mobile repair, especially where power supply is limited or variable. In a bodyshop it typically gets used for panel sections, brackets, exhaust repairs and general light chassis work, often on 13 A or site power rather than a dedicated high‑amp outlet.

The wide input voltage range with PFC is useful in older workshops or when running off long extension leads, as it helps keep the arc more stable when the mains sags. Wire choice and correct roller selection are important – especially if you want to run 0.8 mm solid on car body or swap to flux‑cored for outdoor work.

From experience, most issues we see are basic setup: incorrect torch liner for wire size, poor earth connection, or trying to weld at the top end of its range on too light a circuit. Used within its limits, it’s a reliable, efficient little machine for day‑to‑day repair work.
