Paul Jones says
This is a three‑phase, air‑cooled multi process MIG power source aimed at heavier bodyshop and workshop fabrication where you’re running solid or flux cored wire for longer periods. In practice I see it used on chassis repairs, jig work, thicker structural sections and light fabrication around the workshop, with pulse modes helping when you need cleaner welds and better control on thinner material transitions.
The key with this type of set is matching the process to the job: pulse or double pulse for controlled heat input and reduced spatter, standard MIG/MAG for straightforward structural welds. Make sure the air‑cooled torch rating is appropriate for your duty cycle – if you’re running higher currents for long runs, cable heating and consumable burn‑back become an issue.
A common problem is poor results caused by incorrect synergy selection or wire feed setup rather than a fault with the machine. Take time to dial in wire type, diameter and gas correctly. Used properly, this unit gives reliable, repeatable welds and good productivity for day‑to‑day professional work.
