TIG welders are used when you need precise, clean control over weld beads on steels, stainless and aluminium, especially on thinner sections. In a bodyshop or fabrication workshop, I use GYS TIG sets for jobs like alloy bracket repairs, stainless exhaust work, and aluminium structural sections where appearance and heat control matter.
The main technical considerations are power supply and process control. Many GYS AC/DC machines will run happily on 110 V or 230 V with flexible voltage and PFC, which is useful on sites with long leads or limited supply. On the torch side, correct tungsten size, gas flow and balance between penetration and cleaning on aluminium are critical to avoid porosity and oxide issues.
A common issue I see is incorrect setup for thin panels: too much current or poor pulse settings leads to distortion or burn-through. Taking time to dial in parameters and keep joints clean makes a big difference.
Used correctly, these TIG sets are reliable workshop tools, giving consistent results and good efficiency for professional repair work.
