APPROVED IMI TRAINING AND TEST CENTRE

We are an Approved IMI Training Centre able to carry out IMI-ATA-AOM modules onsite.
Our training and certification meets BS10125 requirements.

Our inspectors and engineers are very qualified and able to provide instruction on all aspects of welding and bonding in the automotive industries.

Testing can be carried out onsite using your own equipment providing a more stable and cost effective environment for the student / technician to perform.
Training on the modules and testing can be provided if required. Please ask for details





BS EN 4872 WELD TESTING 

This test involves proving the welder / technicians competence at producing an acceptable weld in a fillet and butt weld. It was designed so that the technician can self inspect and produce a required weld for a given application.

Butt and Fillet welds are produced in the horizontal and upside down positions using  1.0mm weld tags. For automotive approval this qualifies the technician to weld from 0.5mm to 2.0mm
It has a 2 year validity period

BS EN 1140 SPOTWELD TEST

The spot weld test requires technicians to produce a 5mm and an 8mm spot weld on 1.0mm weld tags . They then need to show how to do a peel test. 
It has a 2 year validity period

AOM-009 MODULE

The AOM 099 module (BS1140 & BS4872) is the minimum requirement for ATA approval. This test module just involves the same testing  as the BS1140 and the BS4872 its just the paperwork that is required for the IMI. The IMI will issue a separate certificate from the test certificates we issue.

IMI ATA AOM 133 Bonding and riveting test - onsite

AOM-133 BONDING AND RIVETING

The new IMI ATA approved bonding and riveting module has been launched from January 2020. This module is a requirement  for all technicians carrying out bonding in the workplace and its also required for senior ATA accreditation
The module also assesses a technicians’ ability to follow a researched repair method to remove existing bonded and mechanically fixed panels, apply blind rivets, self-piercing rivets, flow form rivets and use structural adhesives in conjunction with a reinforcement plate.
